A child seeking admission to L. K.G should have completed Four years of age by July 31.The child may be subjected to a screening before he/she is admitted. At the time of admission a Birth Certificate from Municipality or Panchayat must be submitted along with two passport size photos
Admission to higher classes is solely depends on the strength of the class.
The school admits any child irrespective of caste, creed, religion or social status. Students seeking admission to any class will be subjected to screening which could be an entrance test or an interview or both or anything else the school considers fit to the changing trends in education. Children clearing the screening alone will be admitted. A child who has secured a promotion to Class I from U.K.G is eligible and entitled for admission to Class I without a further screening. However, the child must undergo the formalities of readmission to be considered as having admitted to Class I.
Admission fee paid once is not refundable.
On request, Transfer Certificate may be issued at any time of the year. But, no leaving certificate will be issued until all dues to the school are cleared. The school reserves to itself the right to dismiss any student whose academic performance is steadily unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students. Grave insubordination or contempt of authority justifies immediate dismissal.
Examinations and tests are compulsory for all students. The academic year is divided into two Semesters. Thus, an academic year will have two examinations and Two unit tests in total. In all the examinations 40% of marks in each subject is required for a pass. Students who are absent from examination for any reason will not be re-examined. If a student is not able to appear for the whole or part of an examination for valid reasons his/her case will be considered on the strength of the year's record. In case a student is found using unfair means in an examination, he/she will be rewarded zero in that paper and will be debarred from appearing for the rest of the papers. Repetition of the same offence will result in dismissal.
Results of the examinations are final. Parents and guardians are not expected to dictate terms to the school authorities regarding their child's promotion or detention which is decided on the performance of the child. Promotion to the higher classes depends on the student's performance and internal assessments during past academic year. Promotions once refused will under no circumstances be reconsidered and the Principal's decision shall be final. If a student fails twice in the same class or repeats a class more than one year he / she should be withdrawn from the school with leaving certificate.
Parents can meet the teachers on the stipulated days mentioned in the school diary. On other occasions parents may be allowed to meet the teachers only with the prior permission of the Principal. After each examination the parents will be called to meet the class teachers, on the date fixed by the school and progress report of their wards will be issued to them. Progress reports and final results will be given only to the parents.
Mary Matha School receives no Government or private aid and the fees realized from students is the only source of revenue.To keep up with the rising costs and salary, fees are adjusted from time to time and there will be an increment of 10-20% of school fees every year.School fees are payable for all 12 months.
